Welcome to a one-of-a-kind creation;
a glimpse into the world of Teresa Layman.
If you find yourself saying, "I want to live there," you're not alone.
This sentiment has been shared by all those who see her whimsical structures.
This piece tells the story of the Cocoa Chanelf, a chocolatier extraordinare. Surrounded by all that is chocolate, including her workshop, she creates, by hand, the most beautiful and delicious chocolates in the world. This is a true cottage industry.
Her world is filled with old fashioned charm where things are as lovely as they are useful. The nook is filled with hand made pillows for a comfortable place to take a rest during her busy day. The handmade chocolate making table is marble and brass and shows Cocoa's work in progress. Close at hand, the chocolate melting pot hangs over the fire on a crank so it can be raised or lowered to the perfect temperature for smooth and creamy chocolates. With any luck, she will let you lick the spoon.
The shelves and cabinets hold all the goodies Cocoa adds to her delightful chocolates, including the nut jars on the mantle. The display counter under the window holds the lucious finished creations that are ready for her customers.
Up in the attic are the basic ingredients of the chocolatier, including bags of hand chosen cocoa beans, barrels of sugar, farm fresh cream and a crate of sweet, juicy oranges.
